Hosts outside city limits must register with Anne Arundel county; to learn about the process and limitations, visit the county's website. The fee is $100 for two years. Short-term residential rentals / vacation rentals within the City of Annapolis are not required to register with the County too - only with the City of Annapolis.

While a moratorium on the issuance of short-term rental licenses was defeated in summer 2020,  expect more changes to the current legislation. Review Section 17.44.090 on Short-term Rental from the current from the city code.
